In Abuja: 30- year-old man docked for alleged rape of toddler

The prosecutor, Insp. Haruna Danlami had told the court that on July 27, the accused deceived the toddler of the same address and lured her into his room. The police on Friday arraigned one Tijjani Aliyu, 30, of Dakwa village- Abuja, in a Zuba Upper Area Court, Abuja, for allegedly raping a four year-old girl. Aliyu was arraigned on a one-count charge of rape, but he denied the allegation levelled against him. The Judge, Malam Aminu Sa’ad ordered that the accused be remanded in prison and adjourned the case till Sept. 30. The prosecutor, Insp. Haruna Danlami had told the court that on July 27, the accused deceived the toddler of the same address and lured her into his room. Danlami said that the accused forcefully had carnal knowledge of the toddler and threatened that he would kill her if she tells anybody. The prosecutor told the court that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 283 of the Penal Code.
